The “Newsletter – Elementor Forms” addon integrates the powerful Elementor form widget with the Newsletter plugin for WordPress. This integration allows you to create subscription forms using Elementor’s form designer and map the form fields to subscriber fields such as email, name, last name, and more. By doing so, you can collect subscribers directly through forms placed on your Elementor-created pages.
Here are some key details on how to use this integration:
Elementor Pro Requirement: Forms are available in Elementor Pro only, so you’ll need the premium version of Elementor to use this integration.
Creating a Form and Mapping Fields:
- First, create a form using Elementor. Familiarize yourself with Elementor’s form designer and options.
- Enable the “form action” named “Newsletter” within Elementor.
- Once the “Newsletter” action is active, you’ll see a “Newsletter” tab, which allows you to see all the subscriber fields. You can start mapping these fields. While not all fields need to be mapped, you must map the email address field.
- If your form is primarily a contact form with an optional newsletter subscription, you can map the email field and possibly the first name field.
Offering an Opt-in Option: If your form serves as a contact form with an opt-in option for newsletter subscription, you can add a checkbox field to the form. Map this checkbox field to the “consent” field in Newsletter. The visitor’s data will only be processed by Newsletter if they check this consent checkbox.
Enforced Lists: If you want to assign new subscriptions collected through an Elementor form to a specific list, you can select which list to “enforce.” Lists configured globally for automatic assignment will be assigned automatically by Newsletter.
Multilanguage Plugins: If you are using the WPML (WordPress Multilingual) plugin, you need to enable the “Language filtering for AJAX operations” option in WPML to ensure that the current user’s language is correctly set on subscribers’ profiles. This is necessary for handling multilingual content properly.
Known Problems: If you configure additional subscriber fields in Newsletter after already configuring forms, these new fields may not appear in the already configured forms. This issue is not something that can be controlled by the plugin, and the development team is working to address this problem in collaboration with the Elementor team.
This integration simplifies the process of collecting subscribers through Elementor-created forms and seamlessly connects Elementor’s form capabilities with the Newsletter plugin’s subscription management features.
