Product Description

The "MEC – Advanced Location Addon" is a powerful extension that provides detailed location-based functionalities for events, allowing users to create dedicated pages for each location associated with their events. Here are some key features and instructions on how to use the add-on:

  1. Single Page Setup:
    • Choose a specific page to act as a destination page for each location. This page should include the [advanced-location-single-public] and [public] shortcodes. When users click on the title link of a location, they will be redirected to this designated page. You can customize the title and content of this page.
  2. Default View Shortcodes:
    • There are various options available for shortcodes, and they can be customized to suit specific needs. If no options are set for the shortcodes, they will function with default settings.
  3. Available Shortcodes:
    • There are three types of shortcodes:
      • Single: Displays a single event with its properties.
      • List: Shows all available items.
      • Featured: Displays items marked as featured.
  4. Using Shortcodes:
    • To use the shortcodes, copy and paste the code into the designated page.
    • The shortcode template follows a [location-list] format. If no options are specified, default settings will be applied.
    • Each option in the shortcode (e.g., id="SPEAKER_ID") corresponds to a specific number available in the taxonomy list.
    • Options like load_more should be set as load_more="true/false" without curly braces {}. For example, load_more="true" or load_more="false".
  5. Notes on Shortcodes Usage:
    • Use double quotations for options and pay attention to spacing to avoid breaking the shortcode.
    • Omitting options completely will result in default settings being applied.
    • Avoid using square brackets [] within the shortcode as WordPress interprets them as shortcode indicators.
    • Ensure that each location has content for its features to be accessible.
  6. Widget Integration:
    • The widget can be accessed in the 'Appearance > Widgets' menu, but visibility might depend on page builder compatibility.
  7. Map Display and Exclusions:
    • Maps are displayed for featured locations using Google Maps API.
    • The exclude option allows for excluding specific items (e.g., phone numbers) from being shown in shortcode items, separated by commas.

This advanced add-on offers comprehensive location-based features, allowing users to customize and display event-related information according to specific locations, enabling a richer and more tailored event experience for website visitors.
